Bengali actor Aindrila Sharma passed away on Sunday while receiving treatment at a hospital in Kolkata for multiple cardiac arrests earlier this week and a prolonged treatment with ventilator support. She was 24
Aindrila sustained a brain stroke and was brought to emergency ward of Narayana Superspeciality Hospital on November 1 and subsequently hospitalised. She required craniotomy surgery due to an intracranial haemorrhage and was comatose. She had previously undergone surgery and chemotherapy for Ewing’s sarcoma. The actor suffered repeated cardiac arrests on November 14 and health further deteriorated.
On social media, her boyfriend, actor Sabyasachi Chowdhury, pleaded to his followers to pray for her. “I never expected to write this here. But the time has come today. Pray for Aindrila. Make a miracle request. Say a prayer for the miraculous. Beyond human, she is battling against all odds,” he stated.
Born and raised in Berhampore, Aindrila made her television debut with Jhumur and thereafter appeared in shows like Jiyon Kathi, #Bhagar and Mahapeeth Tarapeeth. She appeared in films like Love Cafe and Ami Didi No 1 and was a promising name in the media industry.
