Retake, the annual intercollegiate Mass Media Festival of the BAMMC department of the L. S. Raheja College of Arts and Commerce, was organized on 27th, 28th and 29th January 2022. The CL meet of the festival was held on 11th December 2021. Strictly adhering to the covid 19 guidelines, the three-day festival was conducted on the virtual platform ‘Zoom’. The festival was organized on the national level. The theme of the festival this year was “Maestro of Nemesis”. 34 college from across India participated in the festival this year.

‘Maestro of Nemesis’, the unique theme of festival, explored the dynamics of the characters with their circumstances and the treaded the thin line between the good and the evil. It implored how the actions of the individuals are defined by their circumstances, resulting even the quintessential good people to shun their light for the dark. Josh, the massively popular short video app, was the title sponsor of the festival this year. Renowned personalities like Mr. Raman Kumar, Mr. Madhur Nigam, Mr. Altaf Qadri, Ms. Aadore Mukherjee, Mr. Kshitij Vaishnav, Ms. Liz George, Ms. Yesha Kotak, Mr. Nilkanth Gharkar, Mr. Inder Sahani and Mr. Siddhartha Dey graced the festival with their virtual presence.

The festival was spread over three days comprised of 11 events where participants exhibited their creative valor, quick wit, organizational skills and strategizing prowess. On day one, BGMI, an online multiplayer battle royale game, was the curtain raiser of the event where contingents fought to the last virtual bullet in the game. The gaming event was followed by ‘Razor Tongues’ which was a debate competition and ‘LOL: League of Laughter’, a stand-up comedy event. The day two of the festival saw dramatic twists and turns with events like ‘Cinephilia’, a short film competition; ‘Pitching Paradise’ aimed to exhibit the creativity of budding advertisers; and ‘Under the spotlight’, a platform to the acting enthusiasts to project their talent in this mono-acting event. The third and the conclusive day of the event presented a podium to the future journalist as contingents displayed their intellect and understanding of reporting through an event, titled, ‘Triple your TRPs’.

CHM College, Ulhasnagar won the best College trophy and MMK College, Bandra won the runners up trophy. Khalsa College and B.K. Birla College won the best PR and runner’s up PR respectively. Khalsa College also won the best CL trophy, best ACL trophy was won by S. K. Somaiya College and best PR CL was won by Ruia College.

The three-day long festival that was celebrated was appreciated and hailed by all the participants and judges alike. As the festival reached it’s final denoument, it left behind happy tears and a surreal feeling of culmination of a beautiful journey. And thus, with great zeal, Team Retake bid adieu to Retake 2022, with a promise to bring back the grandeur one more time with Retake 2023, with the hope of building upon the legacy of L. S.
