Peferd Da Costa, a passionate singer-songwriter hailing from the picturesque land of Goa, is all set to take us on a musical journey with his latest release, “Raahain”. Currently, Peferd has seven original tracks available for streaming across major platforms.
On September 15, 2023, Peferd released his latest creation, “Raahain,” in collaboration with Songdew. It’s a reflection on the challenges and victories of embracing individualism, urging all of us to stand strong in our uniqueness and not be swayed by societal norms. It’s a celebration of self-expression and staying true to who we are, even in the face of criticism or opposition. Ultimately, it’s a tribute to the power of authenticity and the strength that comes from defying societal expectations.
He has been very experimental with music, searching for the right sound as an artist. With “Raahain,” he believes he has discovered the right recipe. Despite Hindi not being his native language, the positive response to songs like “Kinare” and “Tum Mile,” both falling under the Indi Pop genre, as well as their inclusion in Spotify playlists, indicated he is on the right path. This is when he decided to create more songs like these, which led to the composition and production of “Raahain.” The song was composed in a day, with the lyrics taking about three days to complete. The song’s production took approximately a month.
“Raahain” featured a relatable and heart-warming music video showcasing real people with real memories, including some well-known personalities. Peferd travelled to Velsao beach in South Goa to shoot some of my scenes for the music video, where the team encountered unexpected rain. Despite the weather challenges, they managed to capture fantastic shots, making the video even more special.
Peferd Da Costa’s journey doesn’t stop here. His upcoming track, “Yeh Daastan,” promises an upbeat and groovy Indie Hindi experience. With a unique structure, catchy chorus lines, and a blend of instruments, including guitars and 90’s-inspired piano melodies, this track is set to become another favourite.
